Bonnie’s Choice

The little girl saw her daddy waiting below. Without a thought of fear, she jumped off the low roof and plunked into his arms. Her daddy was big and strong, and he knew how to take care of her. But her mom had bruises, and Bonnie didn’t realize they came from a strength gone wrong. Then the young children were left without a mother, and they grappled with questions: Why couldn’t they see their mother anymore? Why did they have to move so often? How could they make friends in a new school again? As Bonnie grew up, she began to realize that life was a series of choices to make. Would she make the choices that continued her family history of broken homes and abusive relationships, or would she allow God to lead her in a different way – one that would grow strong relationships with Him and others, that would build instead of destroy?
